Dr Alison Taylor

Dr Alison Taylor

Veterinarian, Senior Small Animal Partner - BVSc (Hons)

Dr. Alison is one of the partners here at the Kaleen Veterinary Hospital. She began her career in mixed animal practice in Gerringong before moving to England. She worked there in small animal practice for four years and also managed to see some of the world during this time. After another short stint at the coast, she moved to Canberra in 2004 and has been at Kippax Veterinary Hospital since 2006. During this time she has done further study in radiography, ultrasonography and management of radioactive substances allowing the use of radioactive iodine to treat cats with hyperthyroidism.

Alison has two little boys (Jack and Hugh) to keep her busy when not at work. Her main interests outside of work and family are sport, cooking and traveling.

Alison’s husband, Bill is a vet at Queanbeyan Vet Hospital and Jerrabomberra Vet Hospital.

Dr Michael Archinal

Dr Michael Archinal

Veterinarian, Senior Small Animal Partner - BVSc, IVAS (Cert), PTC (Hons)

Michael is a Senior Small Animal Partner in the practice. He graduated from Sydney University in 1987 and after five years in country practice, started the Bateman’s Bay Veterinary Hospital. After five years of very successful practice, was recruited as the Director of Canberra Vet Hospital that he managed for 17 years and joined the Kippax team in 2006. Michael is an internationally qualified acupuncturist having been awarded an IVAS Diploma and has undertaken post-graduate training in dermatology and animal behaviour. He is a sought after lecturer internationally, having lectured in Japan and the US on the human-animal bond. He has also had a very successful book published “Animal Wisdom” on the subject. He is married to Jodie, and has three sons, and a cat called Coco. How he combines family life, football refereeing, a single digit golf handicap, commitments in his local church, a television, radio and print career and veterinary practice remains one of the great secrets.

Dr Kanchan Iyer BVSc, BSc, ASAVA


Ever since she was a little girl, Canberra has always been a second home for Kanchan, and she has family members far and wide through the Canberra suburbs! After finishing her studies at the University of Sydney, it was a no-brainer that she move to Canberra and enjoy all it has to offer. She has been with the Kippax & Kaleen team since 2014 and enjoys all things small animal medicine including ultrasonography, behaviour, dentistry and internal medicine.

Outside of work you can find Kanchan enjoying Canberra’s many walks, cooking and baking, hanging with her cats Fern and Patrick, spending time with her family and friends, and tending to her ever-growing houseplant collection.

Dr Tim McNamara BVSc


Tim grew up on a farm, deciding from an early age that he wanted to be a vet and graduated from the University of QLD in 2006. He spent the next few years working in Brisbane before heading off to the UK to work, travel and enjoy the British weather.

He returned to Brisbane 2 years later after realizing the weather was not so enjoyable and worked a further 4 years in Brisbane before joining the Kippax and Kaleen Vet teams here in Canberra.

In his spare time, Tim enjoys the sunshine and outdoor activities. He has been assured by our staff here that winter is short and hardly noticeable.

Dr Roxanne Fraser BVSc


Graduating from James Cook University 2011, Roxanne enjoys all aspects of small animal general practice. She has been with Kippax and Kaleen Vets since 2018. Roxanne has two human children and two miniature dachshunds.

Dr Simone Rowe BVSc


Dr Simone graduated from James Cook University, joining the Kaleen Vet team in early 2022. She has a keen interest in small animal medicine, particularly feline medicine. She is excited to meet new clients and has a strong focus in creating a stress-free environment for her patients.

Growing up in North Queensland, Simone has been enjoying exploring the region’s brunch spots and hiking trails since moving to Canberra. If she is not at the local farmer’s market, she’ll often be tending to her growing plant collection.

Dr Emma Camilleri BVSc


Dr. Emma graduated from Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga in July of 2021 and joined the Kaleen Vet team in early 2022.

Emma grew up in East Kurrajong and has always been surrounded by animals. Emma Has interests in both small animal medicine and surgery and is extremely passionate about building strong relationships with clients and her patients.

Outside of work, Emma love spending time with her family, cooking, reading and relaxing. Emma enjoys the outdoors and often holidays around Australia with her family camping, fishing and exploring.


Ruby Willcox-Goodisson

Nurse Manager

Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing & Diploma in Veterinary Nursing - General Practice

Ruby started working at our sister clinic – the Weston Woden Animal Hospital – as a kennel hand in April 2012. She completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2014, and Diploma in Veterinary Nursing General Practice in 2021. After spending many years learning from wonderful colleagues and helping to grow and manage the clinic, Ruby took on a new challenge and moved over to work for us here at Kaleen as a nurse manager in early 2021.
Ruby lives in north Canberra with her Kelpie cross Sandy, Burmese cat Cedric, and four chickens Frenchy, Jan, Rizzo and Marty. Sandy comes along to work with Ruby every day and has even been named staff member of the month!
In her free time, Ruby enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with family, friends, and her menagerie of pets.

Maddie Harvey

Nurse Manager

Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing

Maddie joined the team at our sister clinic - the Kippax Vet - as a volunteer in 2018. She has a degree in Zoology and Ecology and prior to starting at Kippax, Maddie worked at the National Zoo & Aquarium for 8 years as a zookeeper and running educational programs. She completed her Certificate IV in Vet Nursing in 2020, and in early 2021 decided to take on the new challenge of working for us at Kaleen as a nurse manager.

Away from work, you’ll either find Maddie competing in obstacle races such as Spartan and True Grit, or spending time at home with her cat Maurice.

Jane Cameron

Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Jane moved from Adelaide to Canberra at the start of 2021 to undertake further studies at the Australian National University. Whilst Jane was studying at the ANU, she also started studying to become a vet nurse.

Jane has always had love for animals and previously worked as an ecologist before starting her vet nursing studies.

In her spare time Jane loves to go camping, play various sports and curling up on the couch with a good book.

Nicole Bell

Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing

Nicole started as a nurse at our sister clinic - the Kippax Vet - at the end of 2009 after previously working in a small clinic and boarding kennel.
She completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2009 and loves all areas of her job.

Claire Blakeley

Claire started working at our sister clinic - the Kippax Vet - at the start of 2021, and obtained her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in December 2021. On top of working at Kippax, Claire also does shifts with us, and at the Weston Woden Animal Hospital - another one of our sister clinics.

Growing up on a hobby farm in Bywong NSW, she was surrounded by animals and found her passion of loving and caring for them.
Outside of work Claire enjoys going to the gym and loves spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys going down to the coast on weekends and loves the outdoors.

Alisha Mohapp

Receptionist/Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Currently studying to achieve her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing

Alisha worked at our sister clinic - The Kippax Vet - as a kennel hand for two years before stepping up as a receptionist and junior nurse during COVID, and is now joining us at Kaleen as well!

She has a Cert III in Companion Animals from 2020 and is finishing up her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2022.

Her hobby and (other) passion is dance, she has been dancing for 12 years and currently dances with High Kix Cabaret as a Showgirl.
She has 1 rescue kitten (so far!) named Persephone who she adopted after her and her siblings were surrendered to Kippax Vet. Alisha plans to pursue emergency nursing over the next few years.
